Start CONNECT
Part of the Great Start Child Care Quality
Project, the ECIC has launched Great Start
CONNECT to help link parents and those caring
for young children with the resources, supports
and services needed to give Michigan children a
Great
Start. Great Start CONNECT is our online
statewide database of licensed, registered child
care and early education programs in Michigan.
 Bridges4Kids provides
a comprehensive system of information and
referral for parents and professionals seeking
help for children from birth through transition
to adult life.
 Michigan's
Early Childhood
Investment Corporation
(ECIC) was created in August of 2005 to ensure
that every young child in Michigan has a Great
Start and arrives at the kindergarten door
healthy and ready to succeed in school, with
parents who are committed to educational
achievement. The Copper Country Great Start
Collaborative operates through a grant received
from the ECIC.
 Early On Michigan
assists families with infants and toddlers, from
birth until they turn 36 months or 3 years of
age, who may be experiencing delays in their
development or if they have a diagnosed
disability.
 Michigan Alliance
for Families provides
information, support and education to families
of children and adults with disabilities from
birth to age 26 who are in the educational
system.
 Michigan Department
of Human Services
is Michigan's public assistance, child and
family welfare agency. DHS directs the
operations of public assistance and service
programs through a network of over 100 county
offices around the state. Services include cash,
food, child support, child care and medical
assistance, as well as emergency, protective and
juvenile justice services.

Development and Behavior Resources is
a clearinghouse for comprehensive information on
children’s development and behavior. This
site is intended to help parents navigate the
overwhelming amount of information available on
the Internet. It also provides parents a
means to link up with support groups, agencies,
organizations, and other tools and resources.
 Prevention
Network - Parenting Awareness Michigan (PAM)
celebrates people raising children and promotes
year round education and resources for parents
and caregivers. Its mission is to promote
parenting awareness, education, and resources
through state outreach and local effort.

Healthy Baby is the Michigan
Department of Community Health’s free resource
for help before, during and after pregnancy.”
Michigan
Sandbox Party
is a nonpartisan movement for Michigan residents
who recognize the need to make sure infants,
toddlers and other children are healthy, strong
and ready to go when they arrive at the
kindergarten door. It’s also for those who
understand the crucial role that school-ready
children play in Michigan's economic revival.
Kids Count The
latest Kids Count in Michigan Data Book
underscores the
need to act to help children
in Michigan with eight of 15 indicators of child
well-being showing worsening trends.
